The supervisor's role is to notify a remote system(s) of the battery state and when required, trigger evasive action to prevent damage to the battery pack.
The WatchMonCORE is our current supervisor and the core building block. Additional components will link to this supervisor in the future.
The purpose of the Expansion board is to connect and add extra relays and inputs to trigger external devices such as a fan, heater, contactor or circuit breaker, etc.
The WatchMon has one onboard relay, if you want more outputs the expansion board is ideal for this. If not communicating with an inverter via CANbus, this is helpful for turning on chargers or loads.
Shunt-based precision current measurement module that accumulates current over time.
The Batrium Shuntmon is a SOC% monitor that can give you an idea of the state of the battery which isn't possible using voltage alone. Our logic will work without this information but if connected via CANbus to an inverter that does need this information, it may be essential rather than just useful.
ShuntMon works with any of our WatchMon supervisors. The following revisions are outlined below:
The cell monitoring unit measures the voltage and temperature of the cells to ensure a safe operation of the battery system.
Batrium cell monitors are all designed to identical tolerances, and the decision on which cell monitor to use is based on ease of installation.
